Playing the Washboard
More Info
A half hour of playing and discovery with the washboard. Learn how to listen to the tunes, keep the beat, and add some interest by experimenting with different sounds available through the use of thimbles, brushes, and sticks. It's not just about scrapin' across the ribs.

DeepDish GigBook
More Info
Have your sheet music wherever you go! Learn the ins and outs of using DeepDish GigBook on your iPad. We will focus mostly on Getting Started: How to get tunes and how to find them quickly! Organize your music into folders and set lists, and know the difference. We will also look into annotation for those times when you might want to highlight a section, make a note of a key change, or even tell yourself to "watch out here." If we have time we will touch on how to use Collections & why you might want to, and sorting by genre, composer, or title.

Requirements: Apple iPad with GigBook and Drop Box installed. A free version of Drop Box is available in the App Store on your iPad. Search DeepDish GigBook on Google, or the app store on your iPad, to find a version for $9.99. (This is not the iGigBook app.) Please bring your iPad for this hands-on workshop. It would be best if you have DeepDish GigBook on your iPad prior to class. If you need help setting up prior to the workshop, contact bev@bevludlow.com.

Ukulele 1
More Info
Ukuleles are making a grand revival. Simple to play, and mellow in tone, they make a great diversion for fun and entertainment. Come learn the basics!
Bill Sharp, multi-instrumentalist

iReal Pro
More Info
If you are not aware of the iReal Pro App, then you should be. This session will demonstrate its extremely powerful potential to help you learn to become a better instrumentalist or vocalist. An audio accompaniment, which plays the thousands of free available chord charts in any key, at any tempo, will rapidly increase your performing ability, if you conscientiously use the App. Note: it only plays chordal accompaniments, as per most banjo players, not melodies.

It is not necessary to have iRealPro to attend and appreciate the workshop. However, if you wish to own it, the app is available for any pad, computer, or phone, for between $20-$25.
